Former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was officially charged with multiple offenses on Friday.
According to court records, Moore is facing charges of third-degree home invasion, stalking and breaking and entering. The third-degree home invasion charge is a felony while the other 2 offenses are misdemeanors.
The felony charge carries a prison sentence up to 5 years if convicted. The stalking charge is punishable by up to 1 year in prison.
The alleged incident happened after Moore was fired as head coach at Michigan on Wednesday. In a statement, Michigan said Moore was being fired for cause after he had an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.
According to the prosecutor on the case, Moore then went to the alleged victim’s apartment and threatened his own life. According to the prosecutor, Moore left the apartment after the alleged victim said she would call the police. He was later apprehended and has been in police custody since Wednesday.
