ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Lake effect snow pushed north overnight but may still produce some flakes north of rt 104 from northeastern Monroe County to the northeastern corner of Wayne County today. Not much if any accumulation except for parts of Wayne County which could see an inch or two more of accumulation. Elsewhere across the region, partly cloudy skies, cold and breezy with highs in the low 30s and wind chills in the low 20s.
This weekend a cold front will bring passing snow showers in the mid to late morning and afterwards comes plunging temperatures and a gusty breeze. Highs will be in the low 30s but quickly drop into the teens for the afternoon and evening. Winds will gust out of the west up to 30 MPH.
Sunday the cold airmass remains with temperatures never getting out of the teens. A lake effect snow band over Lake Ontario will drop south into our region, which will bring minor accumulations, but it will quickly disorganize into scattered light snow showers and shouldn’t pose much of a concern. By the end of the weekend, fresh snow from both days should amount to around an inch.
The cold wintry weather continues on Monday but our first above-average temperature day is in sight with Thursday highs reaching the 40 degree mark.
