On Friday, Dec. 12, a short film will air on Channel 4 as part of a Stand Up to Cancer special in collaboration with Cancer Research UK, People reported. It aims to raise money for and awareness of early detection of cancer, and King Charles, 77, will speak about his journey.

For Friday's broadcast, the British monarch is expected to touch on the importance of cancer screenings for early detection. He will also reportedly share his own experience with the disease, according to Buckingham Palace.
In February 2024, King Charles first revealed he had an undisclosed type of cancer.
"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted," Buckingham Palace said in a statement. "Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."
At the time, King Charles indefinitely postponed public appearances. He ultimately returned in April.

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," the statement continued. "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
Since then, the monarch has shared brief health updates on his cancer, typically when meeting with fellow cancer patients. King Charles' daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, 43, was also diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer; she announced the news in March 2024. In January 2025, the Princess of Wales announced that she was "cancer free."
