“I knew the movie wouldn’t work if people didn’t believe the love story,” she said, as mentioned by Variety, adding, “That was my biggest concern going in.”
With this, Hudson revealed that their first bonding experience wasn't in a rehearsal but a recording session.
“I told Hugh, ‘I’m super tactile. We need to really get to know each other and find this intimacy,’” she shared. “The first thing we did was sing. It came really easily.”
