Milky Way is bringing back a previously discontinued fan-favorite with a new look and a new name, but all the same ingredients as the original.
Inspired by malted milkshakes, the iconic milk chocolate-covered candy bar typically features a layer of "fluffy" chocolate-flavored nougat beneath a smooth, creamy sheet of caramel in what the Mars, Inc. brand calls the "perfect ratio." But in 2010, it experimented with a new release that nixed its iconic nougat from the mix, leaving fans with more room for the ooey-gooey caramel they crave and dubbing the bar Milky Way Simply Caramel.
The simpler spinoff was such a hit that it earned its own series, launching as an ice cream bar shortly thereafter, and remained a fan favorite long after it was discontinued, with fans still searching for it as recently as this year.
Now, years after searching far and wide, consumers soon won't have to look much further than their local gas station, corner store, or grocer to once again get their hands on the Milky Way they know and love sans nougat, as Mars is gearing up to release a new version of the treat: Milky Way All Caramel.
Milky Way Brings Back Simply Caramel as New Milky Way All Caramel
Just like the original Simply Caramel Milky Way bar did, the brand's new All Caramel brings its beloved caramel directly into the spotlight. It uses the same milk chocolate outer shell as the original Milky Way and fills it with the soft caramel consumers expect when biting into the bar.

The only apparent difference, aside from the candy bar's name, is its packaging. The defunct Simply Caramel bars were dressed in a goldish-brown wrapper with dark brown details. The new Milky Way All Caramel features that same warm-toned beige background, with some dark brown details and, now for the first time, prominent green accents.
Milky Way's new All Caramel bar is heading to stores nationwide in January 2026.It will be available at most stores nationwide starting in January 2026, where it will be found in standard, full-size bars (1.84-ounce each) on shelves alongside the rest of Milky Way's current flavor lineup, like Milky Way Midnight Dark Chocolate and Milky Way Cookie Dough (prices may vary).
Along with the new Milky Way All Caramel, the Mars brand has several other new releases heading to stores for 2026—including M&M’s Bakery Collection (which includes three all-new M&M's flavors: Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll, Cherry Chocolate Cupcake and Lemon Meringue Pie), Twix Bits, Life Savers Gummies Fruit Rings.
