Vaibhav Suryavanshi falls just short of Ambati Rayudu’s record but smashes his way into Asia Cup history books
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also missed the opportunity to become the first player in Under-19 Asia Cup history to hit the double century and only the second batter ever to score a double hundred in the Youth ODIs. However, Suryavanshi has now moved to second place on the list of highest individual scores for India in an Under-19 ODI innings, overtaking Shubman Gill, as well as Mayank Agarwal (160) and Raj Bawa (162*). Gill had scored 160 off 157 balls against England U19 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in 2017.
