Actor Anson Mount has been allowing fans to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the production of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fifth and final season.
In a December 9 Instagram upload, Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, shared that his castmate Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Christine Chapel, presented the show's stars with a farewell gift. showed that the present was a book that consisted of behind-the-scenes pictures of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds cast. Mount shared some of the images, which included pictures of him and his co-stars dozing on set while in their Starfleet uniforms. Jess Bush Wasn't a 'Star Trek' Fan Until Playing Nurse Chapel
Bush began starring as Nurse Chapel during the first season of Star Trek: SNW, which premiered in 2022. The character of Nurse Chapel was originated by Majel Barrett in Star Trek: The Original Series, which aired for three seasons until 1969.
In a March 2025 interview with Michael Zavala, Bush stated that she wasn't a Star Trek fan before being cast as Chapel.
"Now I'm a huge fan of sci-fi and Star Trek," clarified Bush during the interview. "Star Trek itself, yeah, I mean I was aware of it as a cultural phenomenon. But I didn't really know that much about it when I booked the role."
