Eight bakers remained on night two of Gordon Ramsay’s holiday baking competition Next Level Baker, comprised of home, professional and social media bakers, who entered the three-tier kitchen in hopes of baking their way to the grand prize package, including $25,000, a Hexclad prize package, plus the first-ever Next Level Baker title.
Gordon was joined by Top Chef alumCarla Halland Candace Nelson, Sprinkles Cupcakes founder, to help him judge the sweet treats.
Last week’s challenge determined which level each baker would be cooking on. The winners were Stefanie, Aubrey and Chloe, who started baking in the top-level kitchen. Moving into the middle kitchen were Zoha, Deirdra and Jeff, leaving Chad and Nikki in the basement kitchen.

What was the first challenge this episode of Next Level Chef, and who won it?
The first challenge of the night was to make a dessert delight using some form of ginger.
The winners who leveled up the flavor were Zoha and Chad, which moved them to the top level in the next challenge.
The three safe bakers moving to the middle level were Deirdra, Jeff and Nikki.
That meant that Aubrey, Chloe and Stefanie – all who were in the top-level kitchen – finished in the bottom, but it was Aubrey, who made a mess of her ginger madeleines that sent her home.
“I really feel so grateful for this experience,” Aubrey said.
What was the second elimination challenge this episode of Next Level Baker, and who lost it?

The second elimination challenge was to create a next-level holiday bake with tropical fruit.
The winning chefs were Stefanie and Jeff, who will move into the top-level kitchen for next week’s bake.
Also safe were Zoha and Chloe, who will bake in the middle level in the next challenge.
That left Deirdra, Chad and Nikki in the bottom. The baker who was eliminated was Chad, which means there are no more professional bakers left in the competition.
“After I have a very short pity party, it’s going to be okay,” Chad said. "I will keep trusting in the process.”
