IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Pre-trial hearings began Thursday for Julio and Luis Soriano, who are accused of a quadruple murder in Irondequoit.
The brothers face multiple charges, including first-degree murder, for the death of a husband, wife, and their two young children in August 2024.
Prosecutors said the Sorianos set the family’s Knapp Avenue house on fire after the killings. Police found the bodies in the basement of the home when responding to the fire.
Luis was arrested in early June. U.S. Marshals say collaboration between officials in New York State, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic led to the arrest.

According to Marshals, Luis fled to Puerto Rico after the murders, then traveled by boat to the Dominican Republic after learning officials were looking for him.
Julio Soriano was arrested a week after the murders. He was indicted on murder, burglary, arson, and kidnapping charges and pleaded not guilty in court.

Wayne County District Attorney Christine Callanan is serving as the special prosecutor for the case.

The pre-trial hearings will continue in February, with a trial scheduled for May.
