HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say a deputy was injured trying to arrest someone during a domestic dispute in Henrietta.
Deputies say on Wednesday just before 1 p.m. they got a call for a man and a woman fighting in a parking lot on Jefferson Road in Henrietta.
When responding deputies got there, they say they found a man pinning a woman to the ground. Deputies tried to separate them, but say the man, Dakota Nesbitt-Johnson, ignored deputies commands and went back to the car he was driving.
Nesbitt-Johnson locked the doors to the car, deputies say, as they tried to get him out of the car. They say he refused, started the car, and tried to back up to leave.
One of the deputies on scene was behind the car and was nearly hit by Nesbitt-Johnson, deputies say. They say Nesbitt-Johnson eventually left the car, and started fighting with another deputy near the driver’s side door.
Nesbitt-Johnson was taken into custody. Deputies say as a result of his actions, one deputy was brought to a local hospital for a lower leg injury, there was minor damage to an unoccupied car, and the woman had minor injuries.
Nesbitt-Johnson, 19, is charged with the following:
Two counts of assault Obstructing governmental administration Resisting arrest Reckless endangermentNesbitt-Johnson was arraigned and released to pre-trial supervision pending his next court date.
