Crevier?!? Good Knight, Rockford Highlights, Frondell, West Debut, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

The first thing I want to say about last night’s fabulous, wonderful, much-needed bounce-back Blackhawks win was my goodness the blue and red on the ice together was magnificent! The NHL really should consider more dark vs. dark matchups, especially when the colors pop as much as last night’s did on the ice and television. The Rangers’ centennial jerseys are beautiful. Next to the Blackhawks’ red centennial sweaters? *Chef’s kiss*

And now another look at Louis Crevier‘s game-winning, short-handed goal:

    — BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) December 11, 2025 Spencer Knight may have “only” made 21 saves last night, but he was really good again. After the game, Crevier became the latest of Knight’s teammates to note how him being calm in net helps settle down the skaters in front of him at times. I asked him after the game if there’s any extra excitement when he goes up against another all-world goalie like Igor Shesterkin last night, and I got an answer I should have expected. No, he doesn’t get more up for those games; he just wants to continue playing his game. But he does appreciate the excellence on the other end of the rink. Here’s Knight on TNT after his second shutout of the season:

    — BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) December 11, 2025 Landon Slaggert and Sam Rinzel joined the IceHogs’ lineup last night and helped Rockford pick up a nice 4-3 win in Iowa. Slaggert scored the first goal of the night for Rockford.

    — Rockford IceHogs (@goicehogs) December 11, 2025 Here’s Nick Lardis scoring the IceHogs’ second goal of the night. This is his 12th goal of the season.

    — Rockford IceHogs (@goicehogs) December 11, 2025 Nolan Allan scored into an empty net, and that held up as the game-winner for the IceHogs. Rinzel had two assists in his first career AHL game, which was great to see. And Brett Seney’s two assists moved him second place all-time on the IceHogs’ scoring list with 181 points. He trails only Brandon Pirri, who had 214 points for the IceHogs. Here’s Bedard on TNT before the game last night talking about learning from a rough weekend in southern California. The Blackhawks will look to avoid a rough back-to-back weekend tomorrow and Saturday with a game in St. Louis and then hosting the Red Wings.

    — NHLonTNT (@NHL_On_TNT) December 11, 2025 Roman Kantserov continues to do really impressive things in the KHL. And he’s so far ahead of the rest of the players who haven’t celebrated their 23rd birthday yet in the league (reminder: Kantserov is only 21!).

    — KHL (@khl_eng) December 10, 2025 Really good read here from Ben Pope on Anton Frondell‘s season in the SHL. He’ll play a big role for Sweden at the World Juniors in a couple weeks.

Anton Frondell's ice time with Djurgarden has fluctuated. But the Blackhawks are telling him to prioritize himself."He can still dominate that game. He’s that strong. He’s that good. He doesn’t need to defer to the older players."New story: t.co/IAKWbrYKak

    — Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) December 10, 2025 Steven Ellis at Daily Faceoff began his previews of the teams heading to the World Junior Championship at the end of this month with Czechia. When he starts discussing their forward group, the first name mentioned is Blackhawks prospect and UMass freshman Václav Nestrašil. Here’s what he wrote about Nestrašil:

While the Czechs don’t have a superstar forward by any means, their offense is well-balanced, powered by multiple players having career years. Václav Nestrašil (Chicago Blackhawks) is an absolute force, using his 6-foot-6 frame to routinely win battles in college. Seriously, he’s tracking for well north of 40 points as a freshman, and his play makeup is something we rarely see in a scoring role. Nestrašil didn’t represent Czechia at any event last year, but I liked him in the summer and fully expect him to be a play-driver at this event.

    — Steven Ellis (@SEllisHockey) December 10, 2025 Jordan McAlpine at FloHockey reports Blackhawks’ 2026 first round pick and Minnesota high school football state champion quarterback Mason West “is expected to make his highly-anticipated season debut on Thursday with the USHL’s Fargo Force, as Fargo hosts Sioux City.” (checks notes) That’s tonight!!

Less than three weeks after winning a Minnesota football state championship with Edina High School, Chicago Blackhawks prospect Mason West is set to begin his season in the USHL with the Fargo Force. More, from @jordan_mcalpine: t.co/GS2W7UQLib @FargoForce |… pic.twitter.com/asCzaqJBvc

    — FloHockey (@FloHockey) December 10, 2025 Ordinarily I don’t make a big deal about rankings for the draft when they’re updated in our bullets because, frankly, rankings can be so fluid. But Corey Pronman at The Athletic updated his 2026 rankings on Wednesday and they changes are absolutely noteworthy. Gavin McKenna dropped to No. 4 on Pronman’s board behind Tynan Lawrence, Keaton Verhoeff and Ivar Stenberg.

    — Corey Pronman (@coreypronman) December 10, 2025 The Los Angeles Kings announced they have signed forward Vojtech Cihar to a three-year entry-level contract. Cihar was a second-round pick by LA in the 2025 NHL Draft. Yesterday was another busy day in St. Louis. The Blues will be without Jordan Kyrou, who’s week-to-week. They signed forward Robby Fabbri to a one-year, two-way contract ($775,000 in NHL, $300,000 AHL). And the Blues also made some headlines by signing Dillon Dube, who was one of the players involved in the sexual assault trial earlier this year, to an AHL PTO. The Blackhawks are in St. Louis on Friday night.
