We’ve reached the finish line of this season’s high school football picks.
Our crew of Christian Babcock, Nathan Canilao, Mike Lefkow and Darren Sabedra predicts the winners of the six state championship games this weekend that will include a team from the Bay Area News Group’s coverage area.
All in fun, as always.
The lineup includes De La Salle vs. Santa Margarita, St. Ignatius vs. Ventura, McClymonds vs. Kennedy-Delano, El Cerrito vs. Beckman-Irvine, Bishop O’Dowd vs. Christian-El Cajon and Lincoln-San Jose vs. Valley Center.
Lefkow finished first on regional championship weekend, picking seven of the 10 games correctly. Babcock has clinched the season championship for the second consecutive year.
In the video podcast, our guys recap last week’s regionals, which included heartbreaking losses by Archbishop Riordan, Pittsburg and Serra and huge wins by St. Ignatius, McClymonds, El Cerrito, Bishop O’Dowd and Lincoln-San Jose.
They also look ahead to the top storylines heading into the state title games in Southern California.
