Propps’ core goals as clerk and recorder would be to improve access to rural areas by expanding self-service kiosks that allow residents to renew vehicle registrations quickly, and to explore mobile satellite vehicle services. Through this enhanced accessibility, he also aims to reduce motor vehicle wait times by 25% in the first year of his term.
After his time at the clerk and recorder’s office, Propp became a national advisor on election software, efficiency and cybersecurity for counties across the country, according to his campaign announcement. With this experience and understanding of election software, he also plans to implement additional cybersecurity protocols and enhance existing voter protections.
Koppes is in her final term as the clerk and recorder due to term limits. Koppes, the youngest person to have held her position in the county, was elected to the role in 2014 and her term will end in December 2026.
Propp is currently running against Assistant Director Clerk and Recorder Rudy Santos, though other candidates may still enter the race. Both are running as Republicans, according to campaign filings.
The primaries are set for June 30, with Election Day set for Nov. 3.
