ROCHESTER, N.Y. – More cold weather today with increasing clouds and a few snow showers this afternoon. Gusty winds will add a chill even as temps climb to near 30 degrees later today. Snow amounts will be light, under an inch into tonight. Looking ahead to Wednesday a messy system will move through the region with snow and rain on the way with gusty winds. The day will start with wintry weather. Plan on some snow and possible slick roads into the start of the morning commute before temps rise and precipitation changes to rain for a few hours. Before the changeover a slushy inch or two is possible. Not a lot of snow but could be enough to slow travel down a bit. Gusty winds 30-40mph as storm moves through with temps briefly warming to near 40 and plain rain into the afternoon. Later in the day a cold front will swing through and sends temps falling as rain changes back to some snow into the evening.
Another cold blast arrives Thursday and Friday. We need to watch the lakes for snow later Thursday evening. Some decent bands may bring accumulations to the Rochester metro, Rt. 104 and Wayne County. Lake snow will taper to flurries on Friday. More cold weather over the weekend into next week with some light snow and lake flakes possible into much of next week.
