Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Elle Floyd of Olney, Maryland has announced her commitment to stay in-state as she has committed to continue her academic and athletic careers at Salisbury in fall 2026.
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Salisbury University! I would like to thank my Mom, Dad, friends, family, Coach Dave, and other coaches that helped me get to where I am today! Huge thank you to Coach Nate, Coach Keaton, and Coach Chris for this amazing opportunity! Go gulls! “
Floyd swims for Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club out of Olney, MD. She most recently swam at the RMSC Distance Freestyle Meet posting a lifetime best 17:59.29 in the 1650 freestyle. That was over a 10 second drop from her best time of a 18:09.79 that she swam back in March. In the last four years, Floyd has made huge strides in the distance free events. Her improvements include a 5:36 to 5:14 in 500 free, 11:44 to 10:42 in 1000 free, and 18:56 to 17:59 in 1650 free.
She began her senior year this fall at Sherwood High School. Back in February, she was 7th in the 500 free and 16th in the 200 free at the 2025 Maryland Public Schools Swimming & Diving Association 4A/3A State Championships. Her 500 free time of a 5:14.58 was a lifetime best. She has also been named a Potomac Valley Swimming Scholar Athlete each year of High School.
Floyd’s Best SCY times:
1650 free – 17:59.29 1000 free – 10:42.37 500 free – 5:14.58 400 IM – 4:45.29 200 fly – 2:17.21The Salisbury women captured the 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship with 1419 points, finishing ahead of Mary Washington who finished 2nd with 1394.5 points. Current junior Sadie Hebert notably won the 500 free title with a 4:59.65 so the two will overlap for one season.
Based on her best times, Floyd would have been 10th in the 1650 free, 15th in the 500 free, and on the border of the ‘B’ and ‘C’ final of the 400 IM at the conference level.
Floyd will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Maisie Rider, Keara Wilson, Ava Sgarra, Allison Thompson, Claire Murphy, Sydney Whiteman, and Leah Romanowski.
