Four men came forth with the accusations during Spacey's tenure as artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre. Spacey still faces three more sexual assault claims in the London civil court next year.
Before the accusations, Spacey and Dench were good friends, having built a relationship during the 2001 movie, The Shipping News. He also consoled her after the death of her husband.
Spacey has recently resurfaced, having commented on being homeless after the accusations and struggling due to the financial burden of the court cases.
In her interview, Dench also commented on Harvey Weinstein, who was also a friend. Weinstein was pivotal in her career after Maxim acquired the 1997 drama Mrs. Brown, which was Dench's first lead film role.
Speaking in tadam about Spacey, she said, "I saw a bit of film of Harvey walking with two sticks, and you think, 'Well…' 'I knew Harvey, and I knew him well and worked with him, and I had none of that experience – very fortunately for me,'"
"I imagine he's done his time...," she added. "I don't know, to me it's personal – forgiveness. I just think…"
Weinstein is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence after being found guilty of sexual assault in 2022.
