Mean Girls Star Tina Feys Appearance Catches Attention After Netflix Post

Tina Fey’s unforgettable influence on Mean Girls sparked a wave of nostalgia after Netflix highlighted the iconic movie once again.

For over two decades since it was released, the teen comedy movie has remained one of the most defining films in pop culture, eventually inspiring a sequel and a modern adaptation. In 2024, the cult classic was also remade into a Broadway musical.

On Instagram, the streaming giant posted a then-and-now comparison of stars from the original 2004 film who returned to step back into their roles.

Lindsay Lohan, who played math wiz turned “IT” girl prodigy Cady Heron, made a surprise cameo in the 2024 movie musical as a Mathletes tournament judge.

While some expressed their dissatisfaction with the remake, others couldn't help but notice Fey’s age-defying beauty.

“Tina Faye doesn’t age,” one wrote.

“Tina didn’t age,” a commenter said.

The comment section brimmed with reactions highlighting just how little she has aged over the past 20 years.

“What! Tina Fey looked the same!” a fan pointed out.

“No way, Tina still looking young,” another echoed.

“Tina Fey looks exactly the same,” a follower said.

The same goes for fans who swooned over the Saturday Night Live alum’s youthful beauty.

“But Tina looks the exact same tho,” one noted while another added, "Tina is timeless like wtf."

The Book That Sparked Tina Fey’s Mean Girls

Besides joining the cast of Mean Girls, the 55-year-old actress and comedian also wrote the screenplay of the iconic movie.

According to Fey, what inspired her to write her first and only screenplay was the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman.

"I wrote it when I was a writer at SNL," she told Savannah Guthrie during her 2019 appearance on theTODAY show. "I saw this article in The New York Times about a woman named Ros Wiseman who had written this book ... I was like, 'I want to make a movie of that.' And they let me. Now it's 15 years later."

The original movie starred Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and Lizzy Caplan.

Fey’s long-time best friend and fellow comedian, Amy Poehler also appeared in the 2004 movie.
