What is Paradise about?
The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Paradise is an underground bunker, where some of the world's most prominent individuals reside, including the President of the United States, who was discovered murdered in the first episode of Season 1. The first season revealed that not everyone outside of the bunker perished, including possibly Xavier's wife, Terri.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fogelman noted that the seventh episode of Season 1 is "kind of a standalone episode of the show," adding, "As we go into second season, we pivot a little bit, but in a way that I think is very follow-able."
Ever the master of twists, Fogelman also confirmed to THR that the second season won't just pick up where the first left off. "Without giving away too much, each season of the show is a slightly different show, within the same show with the same characters,” he said.
Fogelman also revealed that any questions viewers have after the "first couple of episodes [of Season 1] should be answered at the end of the eighth episode" and "then a new question and journey will start that takes us into the second season."
The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: "Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city's origins."
