AC/DC has taken over Australia, returning to their home country after a decade away. While many fans are thrilled to welcome the legendary rock band back, viral footage from their “Power Up Tour” left some viewers underwhelmed — and even sparked questions about whether it might be time for the band to retire.
The footage, recorded at Optus Stadium in Perth on December 4, shows guitarist Angus Young performing alongside lead singer Brian Johnson during their 1990 hit “Thunderstruck.” While the duo seemed full of energy on stage, fans had mixed reactions.
One viewer wrote, “Thunderstruggle,” while another commented, “Time to wrap it up, guys.” A third fan chimed in, “I love AC/DC but boys, time to spend time with the grandkids.”
Another added, “I 100% respect them for still going at this age, but I mean they can only go for so much longer, it might be time to hang up the 6 string.”

One fan reminded critics, “Some of y'all gotta realise it's not gonna sound like it did 40 years ago when they were 25-30 you get what you pay for, you literally know they are 70+ now so if you can't accept that don't buy the tickets in the first place.”
Another supporter said, “Unless you've lived through this time, you will neva get it. Don't care if they are older now, people see ACDC as a monumental life experience.”
Despite split opinions, AC/DC is on a high note. Their “Power Up Tour” returned to Australia for the first time in a decade, opening with a huge show at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 12.
The show’s sound and energy were so intense that it triggered earthquake-measuring equipment in the city. AC/DC treated fans to a special set, performing the “Jailbreak” live for the first time in 34 years, along with “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” and “Riff Raff.”
