ROCHESTER, N.Y. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized various counterfeit designer items at Rochester’s airport.
Officers say they inspected several shipments that had watches, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. All items bore counterfeit trademarks and were seized.
CBP said aid if genuine, these items would be valued at more than $425,000. CBP also noted an increase in counterfeit goods entering the country during the holiday season.
During the holiday shopping season, CBP wants to remind consumers to get items from reputable retailers and be cautious of deals that might seem too good to be true.
