Country/pop singer Jessie James Decker has been down for the count as she recovers from an unknown and unexpected illness that has “kicked my butt,” according to the artist. The 37-year-old multi-talented star and wife of former NFL player Eric Decker took to her Instagram Stories earlier this week to document her winter weather bug, which has come along now that flu season is underway.
“Any good movies or shows I should watch while still bedridden for another day?” She asked fans in one image that shows her getting some steam into her sinuses while relaxing in a hot tub. “Feeling a little better today…still a slight fever and tummy aches, but after the day I had yesterday, I’ll take it.”
“Trying to sweat this thing out now,” she added. “This has kicked my butt.”
In a separate video, Decker told fans that while she still had “no voice,” she had gotten her hopes up the night prior that she would wake up all better, but that was unfortunately not the case. Despite all that, she was up and moving, making breakfast and posting videos about some of her favorite products before taking another break.
“Good morning,” she said. “I’m just getting a little more coffee. I have no voice. So I don’t even know why I’m doing this…I am so swollen in my face. I started to feel so much better last night… Now this morning, I keep coughing up stuff. It is so heavy in my chest. I actually took a puff of a forced inhaler to see if it would help. Whatever this is keeps turning into something else. It’s just been bizarre…. I’m hoping that this goes away soon. I got my hopes up last night. I was like, ‘Ok, this is almost over, but it's something new today.”
“It’s in my chest bad,” she wrote in a follow-up photo, sharing that she needed to slow down. “Maybe I need to get it looked at…. [I] used way too much energy. Back to lying down. Y’all, I hate being sick. It makes me angry.”

Decker’s current bout of illness comes just two days after the vocal powerhouse teamed up with Jamey Johnson on an acoustic cover of “Winter Wonderland.”

"I'm always like one step at a time, one day at a time," she told People, adding that while she has yet to purchase items, the family has already gotten into the Christmas spirit. "We had our Christmas pre-party, and so I made a big ham and mashed potatoes, green beans, and we played Christmas music and made hot chocolate, and we all decorated the tree. We do these things every year, and we just make it a little party. These are memories your kids will cherish forever. They look forward to this every year.”
