TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals are opening up defensive lineman L.J. Collier’s practice window, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced Wednesday.
The veteran defensive lineman now has 21 days to be activated off injured reserve.
Collier hasn’t played since Week 2 after going down with a knee injury. He recorded one tackle across his two appearances before heading to injured reserve.
It marks the second multi-week injury Collier has dealt with since coming to town in 2023.
In 20 games (16 starts) for Arizona, Collier has recorded 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, six QB hits, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery.

If he can get back to full strength before his 21 days of practicing are up, Collier would bring some added depth to the DL rotation headlined by Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson and Darius Robinson.
Collier’s presence could be needed even more if rookie Walter Nolen III remains on the shelf with his knee injury suffered in Arizona’s loss to Jacksonville.
Nolen has missed one game since going down with the injury. His status remains up in the air.
Other Cardinals injury updates
As far as running back Trey Benson getting activated off injured reserve this week, Gannon said “we’ll see.”
Benson has been working his way back from a knee injury and was designated to return two weeks ago. He has yet to log a full practice and missed the remaining two days of work last week.
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., meanwhile, is doing “OK” with the heel injury he picked up in last week’s loss to the Buccaneers.
Harrison reeled in six of seven targets for 69 yards before exiting with the issue.
