According to The Standard, the long list of possibilities that also include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, and Idris Elba is still very much in the running. But Callum appears to be the "red hot" favorite at the moment, with his odds improving.
"We’ve been knocked over with support for Callum Turner in our next James Bond betting over the last 24 hours," said Coral’s John Hill.
Reports state that Taylor-Johnson is a close second in the running alongside White Lotus actor James. While Cavill has been on every fan's mind for years, he stands at a 6-1 odds compared to the other hopefuls.
Callum has gained recent buzz with his new role in the romantic-comedy Eternity alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. He's also engaged to pop star Dua Lipa.
With the news of the actor being a possible contender to become the next Bond and take up the mantle since Daniel Craig's departure in 2021 with No Time To Die, some fans are divided.
"I'm afraid he doesn't have the right demeanor to take that role. You need someone stern, firm yet gentle," said one fan on X.

In comparison, some fans think he might just work given he's still a young fresh actor.
"I can kind of see it. He's young enough to take on a franchise," said one fan.
"I’d like it. He’s unknown enough to pass for Bond but I’ve also seen enough of his work to know he’s got a lot of charm," said another.
