Paulson was joined by entertainment anchor and host of LA Unscripted Dayna Devon, her longtime partner Holland Taylor and Jack & Jill co-star and best friend Amanda Peet.
Paulson's star is located on 6533 Hollywood Boulevard, right next to her friend and longtime collaborator, Ryan Murphy, who was also in attendance at the ceremony. The two have worked together for years on the American Horror Story series, as well as on the shows Ratched, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and All's Fair. She even credited Murphy as "the person most responsible" for her career during her speech.

After a couple of small roles in various TV shows, she got her big break starring in the television series American Gothic in 1995 and Jack & Jill from 1999 to 2001. Then, throughout the 2000s, Paulson took on roles in many movies and TV shows until she started working with Murphy in his anthology series American Horror Story from 2011 to 2021.
On film, Paulson has credits in various movies such as Blue Jay, Glass, Run, Hold Your Breath, What Women Want, Mud, 12 Years a Slave, Carol, The Post, Ocean's 8 and Bird Box. Meanwhile, on Broadway, she acted in the revival of The Glass Menagerie in 2005, the Donald Margulies play Collected Stories in 2010 and the Branden Jacobs-Jenkins play Appropriate in 2023, which earned her the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
