A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot by an 18-year-old Friday in an east Greeley home.
Around 4 p.m., Greeley police responded to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of E. 20th Street Road, finding the 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound when they arrived, according to a Tuesday Greeley Police Department news release.
The 16-year-old was taken to North Colorado Medical Center in critical condition. He died the next day, the release states.
The man police say shot the teen, identified as 18-year-old Anthony Dominguez, fled the scene, but was arrested later Friday evening on charges of first-degree assault and unlawfully aiming a firearm at another, according to county arrest records. Updated charges are pending, the release states.
This was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community, according to the release. Greeley police said in the release that no further information would be released Tuesday, citing the ongoing investigation.
