Not even Kelly Ripa is immune from an occasional run-in with a rude passenger on an airplane.
Opening a recent episode of Live With Kelly & Mark, the 55-year-old television host and her husband, Mark Consuelos, discussed the proper etiquette with traveling aboard on an airplane. Above all else, the couple stressed the importance of boarding the plane earlier in order to receive overhead space for your bags and personal belongings.
Discussing the various airline policies' different approaches to the onboarding process, Consuelos wound up ripping into an unnamed airline that had lengthy onboarding wait times than most.
"Every airline, it's people that need extra time to get on the plane, the wheelchairs and military, obviously they go first," the 54-year-old talk show said. "There's one airline that goes, and then the executive blah blah blah blah, and then the gold executive blah blah blah blah, and then the pink executive blah blah blah blah, and then the whatever color executive blah blah blah blah."
"By the time you get on the plane, all the stuff's gone, all the overhead," Consuelos continued. "I was very annoyed. It was very annoying."
While Consuelos expressed bafflement at this specific airline, Ripa took the time to open up about a recent encounter she had with a fellow passenger who tried to claim her overhead space.
"I put my backpack in the overhead, and the man that was sitting in front of me came on board... and he put his suitcase on top of my backpack, which I felt was aggressive," Ripa said.
"So, I got up and I moved his bag off of my backpack. I was like, ha!" Ripa added. "Then, I sat back down. And then I sent [Mark] a text, I was like, 'Did you see that man put his bag on top of my bag?' I thought it was a weird flex."
