IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Irondequoit has a new town justice. Attorney Roman Misula was sworn in during a special town board meeting on Monday night.
Misula, who currently serves as the vice president of the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester, talked about what he hopes to accomplish in his new role.
“Specifically, I want to thank members of the Ukrainian community that are here. Coming here as an immigrant, a kid, I’m intensely aware of the opportunities this country has given me,” Misula said. “I hope to make everyone in this room proud in this position. I hope to make the community proud in doing this work.”
The Irondequoit town justice position was previously held by Brian Green, who recently became Monroe County’s new district attorney. Gov. Kathy Hochul appointed Green after District Attorney Sandra Doorley retired.
