AC/DC had some exciting news for their fans.
The legendary rock band announced on Monday via Instagram that a special pop-up experience designed for diehard fans to connect, shop and celebrate the group's legacy is happening this week in Perth.
AC/DC will be performing at Optus Stadium from Thursday to Monday, as part of their POWER UP Tour, and is supported by opening acts Amyl and the Sniffers and Southern River Band.
The pop-up will offer a curated selection of exclusive merchandise, including apparel and collectible items that won't be available online or at upcoming shows. Fans will also have the rare chance to purchase limited-edition vinyl pressings created specifically for the event.
Beyond the merch, the pop-up aims to bring the AC/DC community together. The event will be held at Cleaver House, about a 10-minute drive from Optus Stadium. It opens this Wednesday and will run through next Monday.
View this post on InstagramFormed in 1973 in Sydney, AC/DC has been cited as one of the formative influences on the new wave of British heavy metal bands. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and has sold over 200 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling artists of all time. Its current lineup includes Angus Young, Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams, Brian Johnson and Stevie Young.
The rock band released their first album in 1975, titled High Voltage, and have released 17 studio albums over the past 50 years. Seven months after the release of their sixth studio album, Highway to Hell, in 1979, Bon Scott, the original vocalist of the band, died of alcohol poisoning. Their first album with Johnson as their replacement was Back in Black in 1980, dedicated to Scott's memory, and it became the second best-selling album of all time. Their eighth studio album, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), was their first album to reach number one on the Billboard 200.
Their most recent album, Power Up (2020), sparked their current massive world tour. The band also announced last month that expand the tour to the United States next summer. Fans can purchase tickets for their upcoming concerts here.
