While celebrity chef and restauranteur Bobby Flay recently debunked engagement rumors with fellow chef and girlfriendBrooke Williamson, the couple made it a point to define their relationship even more on the latest episode of his podcast on Monday. "I think its important to set the record straight for you," Flay, 60, said. "I have so much respect for you and I want you to be treated that way...I did give you a ring, and it is a diamond ring, but you and I had that conversation, marriage is not a thing that interests us and it's okay."
"First of all I've tried it a few times," Flay, who's been married three times, joked. "I'm good where I am now, I wanted to give that to you because I wanted to show my commitment for you."
And while Williamson, 47, at some points became shy when Flay was sharing his feelings for her, she also weighed in on their decision not to get married.
"Only we know what we have, so that's the most important thing," she said. "You open my eyes to other new things every single day, I'm never going to run out of things to talk to you about."
In the episode, the two also shared their first impression of each other when they met several years ago as judges on the Food Network's cooking competition show Supermarket Stakeout. Both said they didn't know much about each other, but bonded during their time on set.
"We really aligned on what we liked and didn't like about the dishes which seems like a small thing but when you recognize little things about something that you don't expect other people to recognize and you're on the same page with somebody it feels like an instant connection," Williamson recalled. "And then we went and had dinner after and you were so easy to talk to and so easy to get to know."

The two didn't speak for a year after first meeting, but reconnected during the COVID-19 pandemic when the Top Chef winner wrote an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times about the state of the restaurant industry and got an unexpected FaceTime call from Flay complimenting her on the article.
"That's how you called to tell me to tell me that you really respected what I wrote and you read my article and you thought I did a great job at representing the industry with my voice," she recalled. "But you FaceTimed me for that I remember i sat down and was like, 'What?' I really appreciated that call."
The couple ultimately publicly confirmed that they were dating in March of this year.
"It just seemed like the more time that we spent together things were starting to feel a little bit different between us, which for me personally it's the first time that that's happened," Flay said. "I got to know you as a friend first and foremost and then it sort of very slowly started to develop into some other thing, and then at some point we looked at each other we were like, 'Alright.'" Flay is dad to 29-year-old Sophie, and Williamson is mom to 17-year-old Hudson whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Roberts. ?
