Congratulations to U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis. The couple of 16 months tied the knot not once but twice this week, after getting engaged in September. The 56-year-old New Jersey native and the 38-year-old investment firm director said “I do” in two separate ceremonies, one in Booker’s beloved Newark, New Jersey, and the other in front of family and friends in Lewis’ hometown of Washington, D.C. The newly married power couple met in May 2024 after being set up on a blind date. Booker shared the news on social media, giving constituents and supporters a glimpse into the couple’s two weddings and the bride’s stunning wedding dresses.
In two posts shared to social media, Booker wrote, “Overflowing with gratitude. We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us—Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C.—first at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful.”
The New Jersey native, who has been serving in the United States Senate since 2013, shared photos from the couple’s civil ceremony in New Jersey. For the more casual of the couple’s two ceremonies, the bride can be seen wearing a stunning knee-length white turtleneck dress with long sleeves and a matching cape. She accompanied the classic look with black heels and her long dark hair tied into a high ponytail.
