A major San Diego bank announced it will match donations to the growing San Diego Unity Fund to help local residents facing challenges because of federal cuts in social services.
California Bank & Trust said it will match donations up to $25,000 for the fund, which was created by the San Diego Foundation in partnership with Price Philanthropies and the Prebys Foundation.
The fund is designed to help residents facing growing economic hardship as federal support declines by providing for essentials like food, housing and healthcare.
Donations for the Fifty & Forward program will also be matched. This program focuses on long-term solutions, investing in the future of children and families, education and the environment.“One of our core values as an organization is giving back and supporting our communities,” said CB&T President and CEO Eric Ellingsen. “By supporting San Diego Foundation and its San Diego Unity Fund and Fifty & Forward through this campaign, we hope to double the impact and help them deliver critical relief where it matters most.”
Every contribution made to the Unity Fund or Fifty & Forward as part of the bank’s Giving Season Campaign through Dec. 31 will be matched by CB&T dollar for dollar up to $25,000. Donors can contribute online.
