Christopher Knight was a teen idol during the height of his Brady Bunch fame, but he didn't know he was secretly admired by a future movie star. During a November 2025 episode of The Real Brady Bros. podcast, Knight, 68, revealed that he found out about the A-list star’s secret crush years after he played Peter Brady on the ABCsitcom in the early 1970s.
“People don't come up and say, ‘I idolized you,’ that we’re fans, ” Knight said on the podcast. “I remember hearing on the radio one morning... I'm driving, it's back when I'm in the high-tech days, late '80s, early '90s, and the local FM radio station, which, everyone in L.A. at drive time is listening to. And it was Jamie Lee Curtis, you know, on with them, and then she somehow mentioned that she had a crush on Peter growing up.”
Knight admitted he was stunned to learn that the Academy Award-winning actress had a crush on him as a teen.
“I literally stopped in the middle of an intersection,” he recalled. “I was stopped in the middle of an intersection and making a left turn, and the light had turned red, and I'm still not finished with my left turn. I should have gone, but it was like I was just stunned in front of the road. I don't know, because I certainly was a big fan at that point of Jamie Lee Curtis. I think that was right around True Lies, early 90s.”

Curtis, the daughter of movie stars Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, dished on her crush on Knight during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. After Clarkson revealed that her first crush was Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, Curtis, 67, shared, “Mine was Chris Knight of The Brady Bunch. He was sweet and cute and, like, the middle child.”
Curtis didn’t make her acting debut until a 1977 episode of Quincy, M.E., three years after The Brady Bunch ended its five-season run on ABC. Her big screen debut came the following year in John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic, Halloween.
While he never crossed paths with Curtis on camera, Knight was lucky enough to meet some of his own idols during his time on The Brady Bunch set.
When asked on his podcast if there was anyone he idolized when he was growing up, he said, “I was kind of introverted, so I did get to work with one of my child heroes, and that was Deacon Jones.”
“Certainly Don Drysdale,“ he added of another Brady guest star. “Joe Namath was certainly… I mean, I was big into sports, so sports stars were where I kind of dwelled. … I was a big Monkees fan, certainly I was a Michael Jackson fan, and I got to meet Michael.”
Knight added that he was also thrilled to work with Robin Williams on a Happy Days episode.
