Joe Keeryand Charlie Heaton revealed that their Stranger Thingsco-star Winona Ryder is a generous gift-giver.
In a joint November 2025 interview withElle UK, alongside their castmate Natalia Dyer, Heaton and Keery shared that they've both received rare gifts from Ryder, who plays Stranger Things character Joyce Byers.
Heaton, who plays Joyce's eldest son, Jonathan, described Ryder as "such a generous person" and "a great gift giver." He then shared that Ryder once gave him "a Clash t-shirt that she'd had since like the '80s."
Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, then said that Ryder gave him a vintage Pink Floyd shirt, once owned by late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, who died in 2003.
"I don't think I've ever really told anybody about this. She gave me ... a Pink Floyd t-shirt. Like a beautiful, amazing, old Pink Floyd t-shirt. And she told me that it was Elliot Smith's," said Keery during the interview.
The actor clarified that he doesn't wear the cherished shirt, presumably to preserve it.
Winona Ryder Said 'Stranger Things' Has Changed Her Life
Ryder has been a movie star since the mid-'80s, with roles in beloved films, like Heathers, Beetlejuice, Little Women (1994), Reality Bites, Girl, Interrupted, and Black Swan, per IMDb. The 54-year-old actress joined the Stranger Things cast during its first season, which premiered in 2016.
In a 2022 interview with Variety, Ryder said she's aware she'll now be forever associated with her Stranger Things character, despite her many roles over the last four decades.
"I'm happy with that," said Ryder.
She then explained that while she has "been very blessed to have the career [she has] had," being cast on Stranger Things "has really changed [her] life."
"It came at my life when there wasn't a lot going on for me, and women my age. And it's opened up a lot of opportunities. And it's also been an absolute joy to work on something for this long with people that you love," said Ryder in the 2022 interview.
In a November 2025 interview with Cherry the Geek TV, Ryder described her experience working on Stranger Things as "a gift." She said that she particularly appreciated watching her younger castmates grow up on the Netflix show's set.
"Getting to, for me, watch these kids grow up was one of the most beautiful experiences I've I've had as as an actress and person. It's an honor of a lifetime," said Ryder.
The first four episodes of Stranger Things' fifth and final season are available to watch on Netflix.
