Mason Keith has verbally committed to swim and study at Loyola University Maryland as a member of the class of 2030. He made the announcement on Instagram, writing:
I’m excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Loyola University Maryland. I want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for their support throughout this process. I would also like to thank Coach Brian and Coach Jay for giving me this incredible opportunity. Go Hounds!

He’s a breaststroke specialist who is also strong in both middle-distance freestyle and the 200 IM.
The future Greyhound had a big breakthrough during the 2024-25 season, dropping from 59.57 to 57.10 in the 100 breast, 2:20.08 to 2:08.28 in the 200 breast, 2:00.36 to 1:55.21 in the 200 IM, and 1:48.85 to 1:44.21 in the 200 free. Additionally, he shaved time in the 100 free, going from 47.81 to 47.52.
Keith didn’t have a specific target meet throughout the season, as all of his best times stem from various meets in early 2025. His best in the 100 breast comes from the Super Essex Conference/Essex County Swimming Championships in January, his 200 IM from the NJ JAC Senior Meet in February, and his 100 free, 200 free, and 200 breast from Speedo Sectionals in March.
At Speedo Sectionals, his first time qualifying for the meet, he touched 14th in the 100 breast (57.17), 30th in the 200 breast, 44th in the 100 free, and 96th in the 200 IM (2:00.14). He also helped Lifetime Metro’s medley relays take third with breaststroke splits of 25.71 and 56.21. He added a 46.42 split on the fifth-place 400 free relay and led off the 800 free relay in the aforementioned 1:44.21.
Over the summer, Keith qualified and competed at the Futures Championship, held in a long course pool. He finished 67th in the 100 breast (1:06.97), 84th in the 200 free (1:59.27), and 100th in the 100 free (54.26), setting new career bests in all three events. He dropped 0.67 seconds in the 100 breast, nearly two seconds in the 200 free, and just over a second in the 100 free.
The Loyola men, led by head coach Brian Loeffler, placed third out of 10 teams at the 2025 Patriot League Championships. The conference meet scores ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ finals, and Keith is slated to have an immediate impact for the Greyhounds. His best time in the 100 breast would have put him into the ‘C’ final, while his best 200 breast time is less than a second shy of the 2:07.43 that was required to earn a second swim. Times of 1:53.00, 45.64, and 1:41.15 were needed to make the ‘C’ final in the 200 IM, 100 free, and 200 free.
On the team’s 2024-25 depth chart, Keith would have ranked eighth in the breaststrokes, 10th in the 200 IM, 17th in the 200 free, and 24th in the 100 free. He will overlap two years with the team’s top sprint breaststroker, Brennan Coyle (52.04), and three years with Kaden Fatta (1:59.36), their leading 200 breaststroker, giving him strong training partners in his primary events.
Keith joins Cristian Pong, Ben Tungate, Court Barrett, Jack Hamilton, LJ Conlin, Max Anderson, and Tim Hanway in committing to the Greyhounds’ class of 2030.
