The Chiefs are now 6-6 on the year. The reality of the situation is that Kansas City probably has to win the rest of its games to get into the playoffs. They are currently the No. 9 seed and chasing the Chargers, Bills, and Jaguars for spots 5-7. Each one of those teams is 7-4 and holds the tiebreaker over the Chiefs thanks to head-to-head wins.
The schedule in December isn’t doing Kansas City any favors either. It starts with the Texans before a matchup with the Chargers. On Christmas Day, the Chiefs take on the Broncos. It is possible we see the Chiefs miss the NFL playoffs for the first time in over a decade.
Lions Dropped By the Packers Again

The final two games of the season are division contests on the road against the Vikings and Bears.
Just like the Chiefs, the Lions face a hard schedule in December and are potentially looking at a situation in which they need to win four of their next five games to get into the playoffs. Anything can happen in the NFL, so getting to 10 wins might also be enough. Regardless, there isn’t much wiggle room for Detroit down the stretch.
