Talty missed an important field goal attempt for the Crimson Tide against Oklahoma before halftime, and the Sooners beat the Crimson Tide 23-21. Talty missed another field goal attempt last Saturday against Eastern Illinois.
Alabama fans booed Talty while he was running on the field to make another field goal attempt later in the latter game.
“I wish they’d have his back like I know our locker room has his back,” head coach Kalen DeBoer said.
The last time Alabama lost the Iron Bowl was in 2019 because of a missed field goal attempt. Talty will be playing in his first Iron Bowl this weekend. If winning on the Plains falls onto Talty’s shoulders, Crimson Tide fans will surely be holding their breath.
