Mariah Carey is making the most out of the holiday spirit as the music icon gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her Thanksgiving activities.
While others were enjoying the Thanksgiving Day football and the Macy’s Parade, the award-winning singer brought fans straight into her kitchen.
On her Instagram update, the 56-year-old superstar shared a video of her making her signature Thanksgiving dish which she calls “anointed greens.”
“My annual anointed greens!!! Happy Thanksgiving!” she wrote.
Basically, it is a homemade greens dish that includes a variety of leafy greens, broth, garlic for aromatics, olive oil, parsley and pepper flakes.
This has been a beloved tradition in her household, with the music sensation preparing it every Thanksgiving.

In the short clip, Carey shared the step-by-step guide on the signature dish. However, what caught fans’ attention was a small detail in her preparations that sparked playful reactions from the public.
At one point, the five-time GRAMMY Award winner flexed her huge diamond butterfly ring worn over her gloves.
“Do you like my ring?” she asked while showing it off to the camera.

The music legend revealed how she started the tradition and what prompted her to name it “anointed greens.”
"It was two years ago at Thanksgiving, and I was making a pot of greens. They were so good we named them the Anointed Greens," she shared in 2022 as cited by PEOPLE, adding, "Cooking for my friends and family, everything that I was doing at the time, I thought, 'Wow, this is so different from when I was little.”
Additionally, Carey’s daughter Monroe made a brief appearance during Thanksgiving 2023 as the “Obsessed” singer prepared her signature dish.
