A woman who allegedly threw a small dog over a veterinary clinic’s fence was arrested in Anaheim on Wednesday, Nov. 26, authorities said.
Tyler Thompson, 30, was booked on felony animal abuse charges, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Surveillance footage from University Veterinary Center on Glenoaks Avenue showed a woman tossing a dog in a plastic bag over a fence at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The dog, reported to be a male Maltese mix, landed in the clinic’s backyard.
A veterinarian found the injured canine severely bruised, malnourished and covered in fleas, the vet told reporters.
Anaheim police identified Thompson after they were alerted to the scene captured on the video, according to a news release. A judge authorized an arrest warrant after the police investigation was presented to the District Attorney’s office.
The dog is safe and recovering at OC Animal Care, police said.
