A duo wearing jumpsuits and ski masks have broken into at least eight vehicles in Lincoln Park, including many instances that happened as people were in the area for ZooLights.
According to Chicago police, two suspects described as Black men wearing black or grey jumpsuits and ski masks broke into vehicles at the following times and places:
The incidents all occurred in close proximity to Lincoln Park ZooLights, and the majority during the event’s operating hours that run from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Police said the vehicles were parked on the street and unoccupied when the suspects broke in.
The men used an unknown object to smash windows of the vehicles and stole items from inside in several incidents, authorities said.
No one is in custody.
Police suggest drivers remove or hide valuable items in their vehicles, always be aware of surroundings, and pay special attention and alert police to suspicious individuals in the area.
