Food Network stars Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson seem to have fallen head over heels for one another. She was spotted wearing a big diamond ring recently, and many fans had a hunch that Flay had proposed.
In a new podcast appearance, however, Flay said it was not an engagement ring. He also shared that there are no plans for a marriage proposal. In fact, the Food Network star revealed, neither he nor Williamson has any interest in getting married.
On November 24, Flay appeared on the Elvis Duran Show. When Duran suggested that Flay was now engaged, the chef quickly interjected, "I'm not engaged."
Duran countered, "She was wearing a diamond the size of my head on her finger," and Flay conceded, "That's true."
Flay added, "But it was on the other hand," meaning that Williamson was wearing the ring on her right hand, not her left.
He went on to explain, "We both don't want to get married again."
The Food Network star continued, "It's okay. It's great having a life partner, and so I wanted to give her something significant to make her feel committed. That's all."
Duran wasn't necessarily buying it, and he suggested that Flay would make a true engagement announcement on his own podcast. Flay revealed that Williamson will be a guest on the next episode of his show, although he insisted there was nothing he was hiding about the ring and his relationship with Williamson.
Later in the podcast, he talked about his new show and referred to Williamson as his "life partner," in a bit of a joking way. It sounded as if he was serious about Williamson being his life partner, but phrasing it that way felt a little awkward to him.
Flay also talked about how his daughter, Sophie Flay, is currently living with him. Williamson has a 17-year-old son, and Flay quipped that they are blending families like The Brady Bunch. Instead of wedding rings, they're going with commitment rings, though.
