Cher’s Dramatic Life Story Reportedly Tapped for Multi-Part Netflix Docuseries

Cher's dramatic life story is reportedly set to be featured in a multi-part Netflix docuseries.

The multi-hyphenate is reportedly in talks with the streaming service to open up like never before about her personal and professional lives, reports The Sun. This announcement comes as Cher readies for the release of the second half of her memoir, Cher: Part Two.

A senior reporter at The Sun writes that they have learned Cher is in the late stages of talks to get the project off the ground. The project will reportedly be called Sharing Her Story.

They quoted an unnamed source who said, "Cher has been in talks with Netflix for months and, finally, the deal is as good as done. They have agreed to a seven-part series which will delve into the highs and lows of her life. It’s said to be worth around $17M USD and the project is tentatively called Sharing Her Story — with the pun fully intended.”

This docuseries is said to be arriving close to the release date of the second installment of her memoir. Cher The Memoir: Part One was released in November 2024.

The first book ended at the time period of the late 1970s, early 1980s, highlighting Cher's impromptu meeting with director Frances Ford Coppola after a show in Las Vegas. She shared the words of advice the director gave her when she told him she yearned to act.

"The problem is that until you do something, nobody will believe you can. The worst that can happen is that you fail, but at least you'll have tried," Coppola told Cher.

The memoir's second installment will reportedly delve into Cher's life over the past 45 years, including a moment where she told CBS This Morning anchor Gayle King that she needed "courage" to speak of.

"In my book I tried to say everything. Some things I didn't want to say," Cher admitted.

"I added to the second book. I wanted to go back and have this extension because I didn't even think about it (a particular memory) until a little while ago. I remembered a story, and I hadn't said it, and then I remembered why I hadn't said it."

She concluded, "I wondered if I would have the courage to say it." When pressed by King for further details, Cher replied, "I'm not telling you. My mama didn't raise a stupid girl."

Amazon has the release date of the second half of Cher's memoir listed as November 17, 2026, exactly two years after the publication of her first installment. A rep for Cher did not immediately respond to Parade's request for comment about the Netflix series.
