Part 1 of Stranger Things season 5 is now streaming on Netflix, and fans couldn't be more excited — especially since the '80s-set series features an iconic actress who once starred in a landmark movie from the decade: The Terminator.
“I couldn’t wait to tell people. I just couldn’t wait,” she told AARP in an interview article published on Wednesday, Nov. 26, regarding joining the Stranger Things cast.
Hamilton plays a juicy role in the final season and is no "stranger" to such thrilling projects. After all, she's been doing stunt work for decades. And now, more than 30 years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day, she's still thrilled to still be in the mix.
"I actually spend quite a lot of time thinking about that, because it’s still rather improbable that I’m doing it," she told AARP. "Many things are improbable — like stunt rehearsal [in my late 60s]! I’m very lucky to play certain women that solidified my place in Hollywood lore somewhere."
Hamilton has also spoken in the past about how she wants to own her age, and explained more about what she means: "I do not spend a moment trying to look younger on any level, ever. I have just completely surrendered to the fact that this is the face that I’ve earned. And it tells me so much. And sometimes it’s stuff I don’t want to hear."
She continued, "I don’t chase beauty, and I don’t chase longevity particularly. I’m fully planted in the moment, but that doesn’t mean you don’t try to be healthy. But not all the time — sometimes it is just a jelly donut. I’m not rigid, which is a fantastic way to get older. I’ve always said that rigidifying is what kills us: the rigid thoughts and the sort of not moving."
