A tragic case has been reported from Rajkot, as former Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law, Jeet Rasikbhai Pabari, was found dead after allegedly taking his own life. Police arrived at the private hospital where doctors confirmed his death, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
On November 26, 2024, Jeet Pabari’s former fiancée had lodged an FIR at the Malviya Nagar Police Station, alleging that he forced physical relations under the pretext of marriage and that their engagement was later called off because of it. Exactly one year later, on November 26, 2025, Pabari died by suicide.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s Brother-in-Law Kills Self in Rajkot
Police rushed Jeet Pabari to a nearby private hospital after the incident, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been sent for a post-mortem, and officers say the exact cause and circumstances will become clearer after a full investigation.
Reports suggest Jeet had been struggling with depression for some time. He was also facing a rape allegation earlier. The girl was repeatedly threatened in the name of cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara. She also alleged that Jeet physically assaulted her after their engagement.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s in-laws originally belonged to Jamjodhpur but have lived in Rajkot for around 20 years, where they run a cotton ginning business.
Pujara’s wife, Pooja, was born in Gondal and studied in Abu, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai, earning a Master’s degree before working at a multinational company. She later met and married Pujara.
