ORLEANS COUNTY, N.Y. — Orleans County residents are experiencing some issues with calling 911 using landline phones, the sheriff’s office says.
Landline callers may get a delay of 12 to 13 rings before the call connects to the 911 center. The sheriff’s office says that, if this happens, don’t hang up. Instead, stay on the line until the call connects.
The sheriff’s office says the issue doesn’t impact cell phones. Communications technicians are working to fix the issue and it’s unknown how long the issue has been going on.
