Stranger Things has been a part of Joe Keery’slife for almost a decade and while he admitted he was sad to say goodbye to his character Steve Harrington, there’s one aspect of the show that he absolutely won’t miss.

“I felt like I was always shirtless when it was freezing and then in a flack jacket when it was like 100 degrees,” Keery, 33, said in a new interview during Elle’s Ask Me Anything published on Tuesday, November 25. “So, I feel like that I won’t miss.”
He continued, “It’s nice to wear shoes all the time. I feel like I was shoeless for a little while. I’ll definitely miss Steve Harrington, but he lives in [my heart].”
Steve became a fan favorite at the end of Stranger Things Season 1, but creators Ross and Matt Duffer previously revealed that it was Keery’s charm that actually saved the character’s life.
"That was close," Matt told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on November 10. "We just fell in love with Joe Keery, but had we not liked Joe Keery, Steve would've been gone."
However, just because Steve has made it all the way to Stranger Things Season 5 doesn’t mean he’s 100 percent safe, and one of the biggest worries fans have for the final season is whether or not Steve will die.
