Since 2020, Roth has helped homeowners on her series, Help! I Wrecked My House. Before the show's Season 5 finale, which premieres November 26, Roth teased that viewers will be blown away by the episode in an exclusive interview with Parade.
Roth also shared how her 2024 move to Utah affected filming the show and how her family has adjusted to said move. In addition, Roth shared some helpful design tips and which HGTV star she'd pick to renovate a room in her home.
Photographer: Shannon ElizabethWhile speaking to Parade, Roth let fans know that she's "excited" for fans to see where she and her team "landed at the end" of Season 5. She shared that she's "pretty sure" the renovation on the Season 5 finale "is the biggest wreck [she has] ever taken on" during her five seasons filming the show.
"It is wild," said Roth with a laugh.
In addition, she shared what was shown on the Season 5 finale was "probably the most difficult project that [she has] ever taken on on this show and one of the most rewarding."
"It was massive. So I think, you know, whenever you take on a big project like that and you're able to complete it, there is that feeling of like, 'Phew, we did it!'" explained Roth.
Jasmine Roth Got Candid About Her Move to Utah
Roth, her husband, Brett, and their two young children, Hazel, 5, and Darla, 1, made the move to Park City, Utah, from Southern California in 2024. During her interview with Parade magazine, Roth revealed how her move to Utah impacted filming Help! I Wrecked My House.
"It kind of changed everything," said Roth to Parade. "It's still the same concept and the show is still very much me and my business, going out and helping folks who have wrecked their houses. But that's pretty much where the similarities end."
She then noted that much of the show's fifth season "focused on [her] business," Built Custom Homes, in Utah, which she said "was a lot more work than [she] expected."
Roth also referenced that she took on a lot of "wrecks" following her move to Utah.
"I don't know if people were waiting for me to move to Utah or what happened, but the folks that were calling, I mean, it's just been staggering," said Roth. "It's been inspiring and it's been troubling all at the same time. Because there's so many people that I wanted to help, and that I was hoping to be able to, not only have on the show, but just be there for them."
She also said that she is happy with the results of the projects she took on for Season 5.
"The ones that we chose, I was really, really pleased with. We went for the bigger ones because those are the people that really needed the most help," explained Roth.
In addition, Season 5 cameras caught Roth and her family getting settled into their new home. Roth shared that their move to Utah "was definitely a rocky start."
"We moved here, our house wasn't finished and the baby came a month early. So my daughter, Darla, was born a month early, which just threw everything into a state of chaos," said Roth. "And it took us a while to recover from that. She's 14 months old now. And finally, we're feeling like we have our feet under us a little bit."
Roth cited working with her "amazing team" as her most memorable experience on HGTV.
"When I look back at all the years, the thing that really stands out is just how much of my success is contingent upon the people that have been there for me since day one and rallied behind me and surrounded me with support. And so building that team has been definitely a lifelong, memorable experience for me," shared Roth.
Roth also told Parade that she's most proud of being able to successfully juggle "owning a business and becoming a mom."
"It's been a complete just overhaul as far as what I thought I was capable of. And a lot more than I expected," said Roth. "People talk about wearing a lot of hats and juggling it all and stuff. But until you're really in it, it's very hard to understand the pull and the guilt and the challenge that is being a working parent. So yeah, being in a good place mentally after having two kids and running a business is something that I'm really proud of. And I work at daily."
Fans of Roth are well aware of her personal mantra, Build Your Happy. While speaking to Parade, Roth shared what exactly this mantra means to her and how fans can implement it in their daily lives.
"Build Your Happy is the idea that happiness is not a destination," said Roth.
She said while she believes "all of us are striving to be happy," the kind of "happiness that we're striving for is probably unrealistic."
"So when we can frame it in the idea of small moments, small celebrations, miniscule milestones, if you will, it really helps with that happiness because you're suddenly creating incremental happiness instead of yearning and striving for this unrealistic, just happiness that would be a destination that doesn't exist," explained Roth.
She then encouraged her fans to consider "celebrating the small wins" and to set "realistic goals and being flexible when maybe those goals have to change."
Jasmine Roth Shared Design Tips for Parents
In the fifth season of Help! I Wrecked My House, viewers got a glimpse of Roth's daughters' newly designed bedrooms.
"This show has been an opportunity for me to really dig in and prioritize what was important for our family. So it's been really fun," said Roth in her Parade interview. "I was able to showcase or follow the story of my five-year-old daughter's room, her bedroom that we did. And then also on the episode that aired [on November 19], we had my daughter's nursery, my baby's nursery. So that was fun to be able to share a little bit of our home and how it's been actually getting settled with our viewers."
She then said her advice for parents "is to just start" designing your child's room, even if you have some apprehensions about whether your kid will be able to grow into it.
"You can always patch the walls. You can always repaint. Hang stuff on the walls," said the HGTV star. "That makes a big difference. And then also just think about realistically, 'Okay, this room, if it lasts three years, that's plenty. Or if it lasts four years, that's fine too.' And just do it. You got to design it and you got to just actually make the decision to start."
Jasmine Roth Revealed What She Thinks Will Be the Top Design Trend of 2026
During her Parade interview, Roth shared what she believes will be the top design trend in 2026. She said she thinks "we are on a path, as far as design goes, towards continuing a more traditional style overall." She clarified that she wasn't "talking about a vintage-inspired style," but rather something "heritage-inspired."
"It's not that things are old, but that they are a nod to our past. And so I think that that like old world sensibility is going to continue. And so much of the modern aesthetic, clean lines, all these things that have been buzzwords for a while now, are going to give way to softer, more warm and cozy spaces," shared Roth.
She also advised those who want to create a beautiful space on a budget to get out a bucket of paint.
"I always recommend paint. I mean, it's honestly the thing that is the least expensive, biggest bang for your buck. You can completely transform a space with paint. And anybody can do it," said Roth.
She also said decluttering can instantly revitalize a space.
"Nobody is excited about decluttering, not really. But it is the thing that can make the most difference and it costs literally nothing," said Roth.
When asked which HGTV stars she would pick to redo a room in her home, she said while "there's a lot of good answers," she'd choose Ben and Erin Napier of Home Town fame.
"I would love to have them design a room for me, especially because I know Erin could design it and then Ben could actually make it happen," said Roth.
