ROCHESTER, N.Y. — With Thanksgiving just days away, the Rochester community is celebrating the season of giving. On Monday the Latino Youth Development and Resource Center on North Clinton Avenue held a turkey giveaway.
Jake Bishop who is the executive director for the Dezio and Gingello Foundation said, “Despite some of the limitations and poverty here especially in the Clinton Avenue area, these snap benefits have affected a lot of people. Being able to have a few families able to share a turkey and gather together for Thanksgiving and lessen the burden financially is very important to us.”
Multiple businesses in the area helped to make the giveaway possible including Italian eatery Capones. Capones has donated more than 6,000 pounds of food over the past five years.
