Hugh Jackman has starred in many, many, many different roles over the years, but for millions of fans across the globe, he'll perhaps always be known as the adamantium-powered superhero, Wolverine.
Originally debuting as the feral X-Men character way back in 2000, the 57-year-old Jackman has continued to earn standout acclaim for his grizzled performance as the X-Men franchise's breakout star.
Though he previously announced his intention to hang up the razor-sharp claws of the superhero following 2017's Logan, Jackman has long since walked back his comments, opening the door to his return to the character for 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine.
More recently, the Greatest Showman star has opened up about the possibility of reprising his role as Wolverine in an upcoming MCU project.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Jackman was pointedly asked by the show's host whether he'd ever again appear as Wolverine in a major film.
"Maybe," Jackman answered coyly, before joking, "I am never saying 'never' ever again."
Elaborating on his decision to reverse his retirement from the character, Jackman went on to say, "I did mean it when I said 'never,' until the day when I changed my mind. But I really did for quite a few years, I meant it."
The last time Jackman portrayed the X-Men's super-powered antihero was for his climactic reunion with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool in the 2024 superhero epic, Deadpool & Wolverine. With said film, Jackman has officially portrayed Wolverine a grand total of 10 times, including brief cameos in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse.
Looking ahead, fans have continuously wondered whether Jackman might appear somewhere in the increasingly massive ensemble making up Avengers: Doomsday.
Previously, several notable actors from Fox's X-Men series have been announced to reprise their roles in the film, such as Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and James Marsden (Cyclops).
