2025 North Dakota High School Athletic Association Girls State Championships
Nov. 14-15, 2025 Fargo, North Dakota SCY (25 yards) ResultsWinning only one event still didn’t stop Century High School from claiming its third straight state title rather easily at the North Dakota girls’ state championships.
Century used depth to amass 322 points, which was 114 points ahead of runner-up Legacy.
The individual standouts were Bismarck junior Maddie VerDouw and Legacy’s Brinley Steele.
VerDouw repeated as champion in the two events, defending her titles in the 200 IM (2:07.28) and the 100 breast (1:02.80), both in personal best times.
Steele swam personal best times to win the 100 fly (56.64) and the 100 back (58.77).
The only event Century was the last one, with its 400 freestyle relay team of Molly Osadchy (53.34), Sienna Mrachek (54.09), Abby Jablonsky (53.30) and Aubrey Caster (54.86) taking the event in 3:35.59.
Fargo Shanley’s squad of Nashatawn Tangpong (28.59), Alexa Heckaman (30.08), Arianna Hoff (25.69), Isla Rogne (25.11) won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:49.47.
The 200 free relay was taken by Legacy’s quartet of Steele (25.21), Grace Upgren (25.55), Norah Sears (25.00) and Lilyana Hochhalter (23.99) in a time of 1:39.75.
Other individual winners were:
Hoff, a senior, repeated as champion in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.15. Helen Wu, a sophomore from Davies, swam a personal best time of 23.77 to win the 50 free. Ellie DeForest of Bismarck was the champion in 1-meter diving, prevailing with 439.80 points. Williston senior Dru Zander won the 100 free in a personal best time of 51.41, beating out runner-up and defending champion Hoff. Rogne captured the 500 free in a personal best time of 5:15.38.Team Standings — Top 5
