According to Semafor, Trump has been in talks with his friend and supporter Larry Ellison, who owns Paramount. Paramount is currently set to take over the Warner movie catalogue and production company. Part of its sprawling library includes the Rush Hour franchise.
"Trump appears to want to revive the raucous comedies and action movies of the late 1980s to late 1990s," reported Semafor.
The report also claims that, besides Rush Hour, Trump is also a great admirer of Jean-Claude Van Damme's Bloodsport. Movie producer Dallas Sonnier predicts a "wave of classically male-driven movies" making their comebacks.
Director Bret Ratner's 1998 movie became a Hollywood staple in the action genre that combined comedy, buddy-cop dynamics, and intense storylines with martial arts fighting scenes.
Chan and Tucker became an action duo thanks to the franchise that spawned two more sequel installments. Since Rush Hour 3 it's been 18 years since the two actors have been on screen together.
Both actors haven't put the idea of reuniting for a fourth installment behind them, with Chan and Tucker having nothing but high praises for each other. Recently, they have been on board with delevoping a fourth installment.
Chan announced at the Red Sea International Film Festival last year that they were in talks for the fourth movie. He revealed they have been turning down scripts for the past seven years, but have finally agreed to one.
In an interview with V-103’sBig Tigger Morning Show, Tucker was "excited" to be working on new projects and teased his return to the Rush Hour franchise. He went on to add it's also because he "loves working with Jackie".
